While the original Rabbit Pearl made in Japan is of very high quality, it is also very expensive. It is made of a surgical quality latex and has a strong motor. Still, we do not feel it is that much better to merit costing three times as much as some of the better alternatives. Not all of the Rabbit versions are good (in fact, some are awful) but two that we have had good luck with are the Wascally Wabbit by Golden Triangle and the Jack Rabbit by Swedish Erotica.
There are many different variations
on this device, with different animal themes, but I think Mr. Rabbit is
the best because there is so much variation of speed and rotation right
in your hand. A lot of the knockoffs just don't get what makes this toy
so great. They have a single ear instead of the two, and in some versions
the pearl section is flat instead of bulging out. The classic Rabbit is
just made right, and most other animal versions aren't. We have seen some
knockoffs using other animal themes that had thin soft plastic over the
end and you could feel the mechanism inside. This would be more painful
than pleasurable. Ouch!
