The Importance of Massage

It is often said that the most important sex organ is the brain, since it is responsible for processing and interpreting all of those delightful sensory inputs. For size, though, the skin wins hands down as the largest sex organ. It completely covers the body with nerve endings, providing stimulating possibilities in all sorts of interesting places.

Being touched is one of the most important things in our lives. Studies have shown that being deprived of touch can lead to stress and mental instability. A recent study has shown that infants deprived of touch develop significantly smaller brains, and will probably have emotional problems their entire lives. Here is some advice for guys: First, spend some time learning how to give a really great sensuous massage. Don't rush, don't use too much pressure, and don't make it sexual unless you already have an understanding and a relationship. Sure, once a woman is on the table and totally relaxed under your touch, it is very easy to take liberties, and chances are, you'll get away with it to a certain degree. The woman may well resent it though, and will afterwards have a much more negative opinion of you. We've heard a lot of women complain about this, and their description of the guy follows the same pattern: "What a jerk!" If she wants it to become sexual she will make it abundantly clear. Even if you know it is going to become sexual, give a complete full body massage first.

Massage oil is an important consideration, as it makes the massage strokes more sensual and effective. If your hands tend to be dry or sticky, many massage strokes can become unpleasant rather than pleasurable, especially when you are applying more than very gentle pressure. Most light vegetable oils work perfectly fine, although they lack the pleasant scents of the commercial varieties. Almond oil is a good choice and a popular base for many commercial oils. You can always add your own essential oils to give scents to any oil base. For most people, it is easier and more fun just to use the commercial massage oils, which come in a lot of fun scents.

There is more to massage than just oil, though. You might want to consider putting together a massage kit, which can be brought out at a moment's notice. The kit should have everything you need in one place. besides several types of oil, here are some items you might want to include:

Not all massage items have to apply pressure. Light tickling can be a very pleasant part of a massage. A feather duster could be dedicated to your massage kit. A fun item, available in some drug stores and some adult stores, is a lambs wool duster. They have a round wooden handle, are inexpensive, and feel wonderful against the skin.
